Politics happens so quickly, particularly during these waves of primaries, that, as you may have noticed, I don't even make much of an effort to keep up anymore.

This often leads to moments in which I'm confronted with the fact that something I've cared about for a long time - so long I can almost forget it's still an issue - needs a lot of work. This is just part of why it's important to keep senators in Washington, instead of electing bloggers.

Even though, as it turns out, some senators are not half bad at the whole blogging thing.

So go forth and watch those hearings! And annoy your senators - it's what they're there for!
